Cliftleigh Gas Fitting Services
The gas work is split across two pages:
Gas Appliance Installation
New stoves, built-in ovens, alfresco barbecue outlets, pool heaters and room heaters, each hooked up and tested. More detail: installing gas appliances.
Gas Leak Detection and Repair
An odour with no obvious source, a whisper of escaping gas at a join, or the meter dial turning with the appliances off. First steps and the fix: finding gas leaks.
What Gas Work Does a House Here Need?
Cliftleigh's homes went up in one long building wave from the 2000s, and gas jobs here fall into four groups:
- New outlets for appliances the house was not built with, such as a barbecue on the alfresco or a heater in the family room
- Swaps, where an old cooktop or heater is taken out and a new one fitted in its place
- Repairs to connectors and fittings installed when the house was built
- Gas water heaters, handled with our hot water work
Near-new does not mean fault-free. Builder-installed fittings in houses of the same age are all getting older together.

How We Handle a Gas Job
- 1
Ring or send the form
Call (02) 4063 3475 or use the form to explain the fault. We ask enough to bring the right equipment the first time.
- 2
A fixed price first
A plumber inspects the job and names a fixed figure up front. Nothing gets started until you give the go-ahead.
- 3
Isolate, fit, prove
The supply is turned off, the pipe or appliance work is done with parts rated for gas, and the whole run passes a pressure test before anything is relit.
- 4
Covered for a year
Every job carries our 365-day warranty on all work. If something we did isn't right, ring the same number.
What Drives the Price of Gas Work?
We provide up-front, honest quotes that will always match the final price, should you decide to go ahead.
The connection itself sets the base: adding an outlet to an existing line is a smaller job than running new pipe across the house.
Then there is:
- The path the pipe takes Where threading it inside walls or beneath a slab costs more time than clipping it to brickwork
- What is being connected As setting up a pool heater involves more than lighting a stove
- When Since evenings and weekends count as after-hours

When We're Not the Right Call
Escapes at the meter, or along the supply pipe from the street, are the distributor's responsibility through their emergency number. When a heater's electronics have failed, such as its spark ignition, the maker's own service technician fixes the unit and we handle the gas side.

Gas Fitting Questions From the Estate
Do we need a licensed gas fitter to connect a BBQ in Cliftleigh?
Yes. NSW law treats any work on gas pipe, from a deck outlet to a stove swap, as licensed gas fitting. The connection is pressure tested before the barbecue is lit.
Can you add a gas point to a house that only has electric appliances?
Where the street is connected and a meter is fitted, pipe can be extended to the new appliance position. The fitter checks what the existing pipe already supplies first, so the new point does not starve a gas water heater or cooktop.
Is a faint gas smell near the cooktop an emergency?
Treat it as one. Shut the burner off, air the kitchen, and do not touch switches or light anything. A strong smell, or one you cannot locate, means leaving the house, ringing the gas network's emergency line from outdoors, and then ringing us to fix the fault inside the boundary.
Does gas work in Cliftleigh carry your warranty?
Yes. Every gas job, from a single outlet to a full heater install, carries our 365-day warranty on all work. The price is set before work starts, and the pressure test reading is noted on the job before the fitter leaves.
