CCTV Drain Inspection Cliftleigh

CCTV drain inspection in Cliftleigh feeds a small waterproof camera through your pipe and shows what is blocking it and exactly where. You keep the recording, hear the findings in plain terms, and get a fixed price for the repair.

It is how our plumber in Cliftleigh team diagnoses a drain before choosing a fix, alongside the rest of our blocked drains work.

Plumber running a drain camera at an outdoor pit

Why Put a Camera Down the Line?

A slow drain can have several causes, and guessing can mean paying for the wrong fix. The camera can show:

  • Builder's sand, mortar or offcuts lodged in a dip of a young pipe
  • A fat layer catching scraps in a gently sloped kitchen line
  • Groundwater seeping in at a joint laid through wet clay
  • A sag or a squashed length that clearing will never cure

What it shows changes the job. Silt calls for jetting; a squashed length calls for pipe relining or excavation. Without pictures, a drain can be cleared only to choke again because the real fault was never found.

How We Run a Camera Inspection

None of this disturbs the inside of the house.

  1. 1

    Go in at an opening

The camera enters through a gully grate or an inspection point close to the trouble.

  2. 2

    Watch and record

As the head moves along, the plumber watches the live screen and the whole run is recorded.

  3. 3

    Locate it from above

A locator on the surface marks where and how deep any fault sits, so a later dig, if needed, is in the right spot.

  4. 4

    Go over it with you

You see the same pictures, keep the file, and get a price for whatever needs fixing.

What Drives the Price of a Camera Run?

The distance the camera travels is the first factor. A long run out to the street takes longer than a short pipe under the yard.

Then:

  • Openings Some pipes need the camera fed in from more than one point to see the whole length.
  • Before, after or both Filming before a clear and again after it costs more than one pass, but proves more.

Young Lines, Old Wetland Ground

Built on old pasture

The suburb was laid out in one plan over former grazing paddocks, and its brick-veneer houses are only years old, so leftover building material is one of the first things the camera looks for.

Damp ground under the pipes

Groundwater lies close to the surface across these low blocks of clay and river silt near the wetlands and the floodway, so pipe trenches here were cut into wet soil. Filming shows whether a joint is letting groundwater in, which no plunger can tell you.

Storm loads

With big rooflines and hard paving on small blocks, a summer downpour reaches the drains all at once. Footage from a line that backs up after storms shows whether the cause is silt, debris or a pipe that is too small, and the stormwater drains page covers the fixes.

What Customers Say

Our blocked toilet morphed into a huge plumbing earthworks project due to extreme pipe damage from tree roots.

When We're Not the Right Call

Where the camera finds the blockage out in the shared main, that section is Hunter Water's, and their faults line takes it from there. If the footage shows a clean pipe while the gully still holds water, the cause may be waterlogged ground after rain rather than a fault in the line.

Related Drain Work

If the footage shows debris, drain jetting shifts it. For waste coming back up indoors, see blocked sewer; roots on tree root removal, and a damaged length on pipe relining.

Drain Camera Questions From the Estate

Does a camera inspection dig up my Cliftleigh yard?

No. The camera works inside the pipe and goes in through an opening that is already there, so the garden is untouched. Digging only comes up later if the pictures show a repair that needs it, and that is priced and approved separately.

Our house is only a few years old. Would the camera find anything?

It might. Lines laid during the estate's construction can hold sand, mortar and offcuts that settled in a dip and now catch everything behind them. The pictures show whether that is your problem, or simply fat building up in the kitchen pipe.

Do we get to keep the footage afterwards?

Yes. The plumber goes through what the camera saw with you, and the recording is yours to keep with a short summary. Any repair price is based on what the pictures show.

Can a camera inspection happen on a weekend or at night?

Yes. We are Available 24/7, and an inspection out of hours is booked the same way as a weekday one, at after-hours rates. The camera is carried in the van, so nothing extra needs arranging.
