Blocked Drains Cliftleigh

Cliftleigh Plumbing Co clears blocked drains across Cliftleigh and the neighbouring estates, from a slow kitchen sink to a yard gully running over after rain. The camera looks first, then the jetter or eel opens the pipe, and a second camera run proves it flows clean. You get the whole figure in writing before the first tool comes out.

Every service we run, from night work to gutter guards, is listed on the Cliftleigh Plumbing Co home page.

Cliftleigh Drain Services

Each drain job lands on one of six pages, and each page owns its own method:

CCTV Drain Inspection

On screen before anything else. A line that keeps blocking, or a cause nobody can name, goes down the camera first:

Drain Jetting

Water, not chemicals. Grease coatings and fine silt come off the pipe wall under high-pressure jets:

Blocked Sewer

The lowest fixture tells you. Waste water rising through a shower floor waste, or a smell that will not shift, points at the sewer line:

Stormwater Drains

Rain with nowhere to go. Downpipes, yard gullies and the grated pit out front, when water pools against the slab:

Pipe Relining

Repair without the dig. A cracked or root-struck line can be sealed internally by a cured resin sleeve:

Tree Root Removal

Roots find every joint. Young lines are cut and joined in dozens of places, and each join is a way in:

What Blocks a Line on a New Estate?

Lines here fail for a short list of reasons, and they tend to come from how new the suburb is rather than from worn-out pipe:

Build debris

Mortar scraps, sand and offcuts washed into new lines during construction settle in the low bends and catch everything that follows.

Grease coatings

Family kitchens on shallow-fall drainage leave a film that snags wipes and scraps.

Storm load

Broad roofs and paved outdoor areas tip burst rain into young lines all at once.

Saturated ground

After sustained rain, wet soil slows soakage so everything downstream sits high.

Why the Ground Here Changes the Job

Youth, not decay

The homes here date from the 2000s onward, so a drain that keeps choking is more likely to hold leftover construction material than a collapsed pipe. That is why the line is filmed before it is priced.

Clay that holds water

Reactive clay and river silt lie beneath the estate beside the floodway country, groundwater sits shallow, and an inspection opening can still hold water days after the rain stops. On area-level figures, rainfall averages 843 millimetres annually.

Hard surfaces, fast water

At the census, 94.1 per cent of homes in Cliftleigh were separate houses, built with broad rooflines and plenty of hard paving on small blocks, so storm rain reaches the drains at full pace. The same applies around Cliftleigh Meadows Park and out to the latest stages being built near the wetlands.

What Drives the Price of a Clear?

"Not only all of that but the job came in right on quote." Steve

Four things set the price of a drain job:

  • What the camera finds A silt flush is quicker work than a root mass or a cracked section needing relining.
  • How deep the line sits A high water table slows any dig or trench work on this ground.
  • The scale of the repair Jetting away a fat coating takes far less time than digging out and renewing a damaged length.
  • The hour of the booking Work outside daytime hours costs more, and that figure is given before anything starts.

We provide up-front, honest quotes that will always match the final price, should you decide to go ahead. There are no surprises afterwards on work you cannot see down a pipe, which is exactly when a locked figure matters most. As Steve put it after his job:

The Clear, From Ring to Flow Test

A drain overflowing at night is covered on the emergency plumber page. Daytime drain bookings follow four steps:

  1. 01

    Ring or send the form

Call (02) 4063 3475 or use the form to explain the fault. We ask enough to bring the right equipment the first time.

  2. 02

    A fixed price first

A plumber inspects the job and names a fixed figure up front. Nothing gets started until you give the go-ahead.

  3. 03

    The line gets cleared

The blockage is flushed out with high-pressure water or the eel, and the screen shows the line running clean again.

  4. 04

    Covered for a year

Every job carries our 365-day warranty on all work. If something we did isn't right, ring the same number.

Not Every Drain Job Is Ours

When we're not the right call. When the choke is out in the shared sewer main, Hunter Water handle it, and you get their faults number. The house side, connection included, is where our jetter and camera earn their keep.

What Callers Ask Before Booking a Clear

Do you run the camera before or after clearing the drain?

Both. The first run locates the fault and shows how far down it sits, and a second run after the clear proves the line flows clean end to end. On a young estate that second look matters, because it separates a one-off flush from a line with debris or damage still sitting in it.

Our yard gully was full during last week's rain and is still holding water. Is that blocked?

Possibly not yet. Ground this close to the floodway drains slowly for days after a big fall, so a brimming gully right after rain is not always a blockage. If it stays full through a dry stretch, book a camera run before assuming either way.

Can you clear a blocked stormwater line at night?

Yes. Night bookings run at the higher after-hours figure, which you hear before the van rolls. The camera check before and after the clear applies whatever hour we turn up.

Does jetting shift the builder debris left in new estate lines?

Yes, jetting suits it. Loose mortar, sand and wash-off left over from the build flush out under pressure, and the camera check afterward shows whether anything heavier, like tile offcuts, is still sitting in the line. When damage turns up instead of debris, the fix changes before the quote does.
